MYSS Adult Swimmersion Clinic Head Instructor: Coach Lisa

As I was deciding to create our Adult Swimmersion Clinic pilot program, I immediately called my friend and former boss, Lisa Picek. Lisa was my boss for several years as Aquatic Director in Hoboken, she helped me start my very first website on Go Daddy many moons ago on a rainy afternoon in the Target Starbucks in Jersey City. Lisa held my hand as I strategized for camp, years before it was even a consideration in my mind to create as we just shot dreams into the universe over Tex-Mex, also in Jersey City. Needless to say, she’s been there, alongside of me, for almost as long as I’ve been teaching swimming, I’d guesstimate a solid 14-15 years. The first few years, me being totally star struck by her ability to teach swim, AND swim, I mean she was a D1 swimmer in college. So to say that I’m completely honored to have her work together with me on this project and with all of you, is a complete dream. She is coming in from Indiana to do this y’all!!!
Coach Lisa joins MYSS with over 25 years of USA Swim Coaching experience. She has taught children and adults from beginners to national level athletes in Indiana and in New Jersey. For this weekend only, she returns to New Jersey solely to share her knowledge and experience with the MYSS Adult Swimmerson Clinic.
Lisa takes pride in implementing simple, individualized methods. She focuses techniques to master the basic fundamental methods of learning to swim and feel safe in the water.
Lisa holds a Masters degree in Health and Sports Science from American Military University. She maintains certifications as a Personal Trainer, USA Triathlon Coach, US Masters Swimming Coach, and is an ASCA Level 3 Certified Coach, among others.
While Lisa still swims competitively, in a past life, she also swam as a varsity Division I athlete at Indiana University in Indianapolis where she was recognized for many academic and athletic accomplishments.
Presently, Coach Lisa resides in Indianapolis, Indiana with her husband Jordan, her three children, Liam, Declan, and Quinn and her two dogs Fionn and Reilly. Lisa’s “real job” is working as a full-time virtual High School Intervention Specialist with at-risk high school juniors and seniors with Indiana Connections Academy. When able, Lisa spends her free time swimming, biking, and running endurance events and helping others improve their health with her virtual coaching business, TeamDailey Health.

Happy Swimming…
